In conjunction with the University of Melbourne, faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, Dairy Australia and the Gardiner Foundation, we have been able to provide a position at the practice for young veterinarians completing the Dairy Medicine Resident Training Program.
The residency program is a 3 year program that is designed to immerse the dairy resident candidate in high quality research projects on a topic of importance to the dairy industry as well as provide further education in developing clinical knowledge and teaching skills.
Previous Dairy Medicine Residents research projects have included:
Dr Ashley Phipps’s research on colostrum management and quality on northern Victorian dairy farms (2013-2016)
Dr Ee Cheng Ooi’s reseach on dairy cattle fertility on northern Victorian dairy farms (2015-2018)
Clinical (On-farm) Research
Our team regularly participates in clinical research on farm in conjunction with Universities and other industry bodies. In recent times we have been involved with genomic, salmonella, mycoplasma and bovine digital dermatitis research projects.
