Canine Manners Dog Training

Training is run by Sarah Crocker. Sarah has over 10 years experience training and teaching dogs both in a class environment for general obedience and one on one personal training for behaviour modification. All training is based on scientifically proven reward based learning methods.


Sarah holds a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Training and is continually learning through attending workshops and courses to maintain up to date skills and knowledge as research and thus training techniques are continually evolving. Sarah also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment which is of great assistance in teaching the humans as well.

Puppy School at Rochester Vet:

This class is for puppies aged 8 to 14 weeks and focuses on the beginning of obedience training, including through games and play.

Topics covered include:

 Toilet training

 Focus and connection

 Basic obedience (sit, drop, come, stay)

 Walking nicely on lead

 Head to toe handling

 Crate games

 Socialization (animals, people, places, sounds, surfaces and objects)


Teen Terror Class at Rochester Vet:

This class is for puppies/dogs aged 9 to 15 months – that dreaded teenage period. The focus is more on problem solving and changing bad habits that have developed as well as reinforcing obedience skills.

 Basic obedience (sit, drop, come, stay)

 Jumping up

 Pulling on lead

 Reactivity

 Learning self control (the dog)
